JBay sure has a lot of stunning places to eat at, we are always amazed at the quality of the restaurants from the décor to the menu, let alone the service. We have not had to opportunity of trying every single restaurant the town has to offer, but currently these are defiantly our favourites:

The Walskipper
Situated on Clapton’s Beach between Jeffreys Bay and Aston Bay where “locals” and visitors can enjoy a mouth-watering array of seafood together with other South African dishes cooked to perfection on the coals. Die Walskipper restaurant is an ideal location for a unique lunch experience on the edge of the ocean.

The Mexican
Located above Jeffrey’s Bay’s Country Feeling surf shop, the décor is decidedly Mexican with wall murals painted by well known local artist Steven Bibb. An extensive range of cocktails includes the superb Blue Margarita and can be enjoyed on the deck whilst watching the day’s last waves roll in on J Bay’s famous beach. The Mexican is not limited to Mexican food and offers excellent seafood, curries as well as steaks and grills with a choice of Adoba or BBQ basting.

Brewhaha Micro Brewery & Craft Restaurant
Brewhaha is Jeffreys Bay’s first Micro Brewery. We are a family Restaurant serving great craft food and great craft beer that we make right here in Jeffrey’s Bay. At the South African National Beer Trophe Awards we have won a gold and two silver medals in 2018 and two silver medals in 2019.

Our experience as regular visitors is that all the above restaurants are good value for money and offer out of season/midweek specials. The quality of food and service received has been brilliant! In addition to the restaurants mentioned, we’ve had an excellent and inexpensive mini seafood platter at Tapas, definitely also a must to visit!!
